The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course teaches the critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Skills are taught in a hands-on, practice-while-watch format with real-time sensor feedback.

Curriculum & Skills Tested on the Manikin
High-quality compressions, rescue breathing with a pocket mask, and rapid AED deployment with voice-prompted pad placement.
Pediatric compression technique, mild vs severe airway obstruction, and when to call 911 first versus give care first.
Bleeding control, allergic reactions, seizures, diabetic emergencies, heat stroke, and scene safety documentation.

Yes. The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED eCard is the standard credential requested by Connecticut Office of Early Childhood licensed programs and meets OSHA general-industry first aid training expectations. Keep your facility's written policy handy - some programs specify renewal timing.
