HeartCode Complete: Self-Guided Skills Verification
HeartCode Complete is the American Heart Association's blended learning pathway. You complete the cognitive modules online on your own schedule, then verify your hands-on skills at our regional verification stations in about 30 to 60 minutes. Same-day official AHA eCard on passing.
Next-Generation Simulation. Objective, Voice-Guided Feedback.
Self-paced online cognitive coursework. Practice real chest compressions and ventilations with computerized audio guidance that gives you instant feedback on rate, depth, and recoil.
Part 1: Online Course Key
Upon registration, you immediately receive your official AHA course key. Complete the interactive cognitive modules and emergency scenarios on any computer or tablet at your own convenience.
Part 2: Skills Verification (About 30-60 Minutes)
Visit any of our regional verification stations (Berlin, New London, North Haven, Norwalk, Stamford, or Windsor). Our voice-directed manikin station coaches and evaluates your compressions and ventilations.
Part 3: Instant Official AHA eCard
Your completion is recorded with the American Heart Association and your official 2-year AHA eCard is issued to your email the same day.
The Station You Will Use
Official AHA HeartCode Complete voice-directed manikin stations, as used across Survival Group verification centers.
Why Real-Time Feedback Builds Better Skills
High-quality CPR depends on details that are difficult to judge in the moment: exact compression depth, full chest recoil, and appropriate ventilation volume. HeartCode Complete measures all three directly with sensors built into the manikin, and coaches you in real time while you practice.
Compression Depth
Calculates compression depth to within millimeters (50–60mm). If your compressions are too shallow, the voice console instantly directs: "Push harder."
Full Chest Recoil
Leaning on the chest prevents cardiac chamber refilling. Sensors verify zero residual pressure between compressions: "Release completely."
Ventilation Volume
Measures air volume delivered via pocket mask or bag-valve-mask (500–600 mL), preventing gastric inflation and barotrauma.
What HeartCode Complete Is, and Who It Suits
The questions learners and employers ask before choosing a blended AHA pathway.
HeartCode Complete is the American Heart Association blended learning format. You complete the cognitive portion online at your own pace, then complete a required hands-on skills session before your official AHA eCard is issued.
No. The online coursework is only one part of the process. Every HeartCode Complete course also includes a required hands-on skills component on an AHA voice-directed manikin station.
It suits two groups. For individuals, it gives control over when and where you study. For organizations, it supports certifying and recertifying people on a rolling basis instead of gathering everyone on one class date.
Scheduling flexibility, a clear split between study and skills, a process that repeats easily for onboarding and renewals, and the same official AHA eCard issued for a traditional course.
Weigh how you prefer to learn, since the online portion is self-directed, how many people need training, and how much control you need over the calendar. If you want live coaching from start to finish, a traditional instructor-led class is the better fit.
Yes. It removes the need to gather a whole team on a single class date, which makes rolling renewals and new-hire onboarding easier to manage across departments and locations.
